2016 Portolan Founder's Collection

With full-bodied texture and depth of flavor, the 2016 Portolan is bold as it is generous. The 90/10 blend of Syrah and Grenache for the 2016 edition features a dark inky hue that suggests a brooding profile. But with a swift and vigorous swirl it opens up brimming with plum sauce, boysenberries, and dried cranberries soon joined by blackberries and black olives at the lively and flowy mid-palate. Star anise, green peppercorns, and mesquite trail pleasantly on the periphery.  Soothing acidity and receptive tannins ease into a seamless and persistent finish.
