2016 El Pomar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Made with fruit grown on our estate RBZ Vineyard in the El Pomar District, this is our quintessential Cabernet Sauvignon. Linne Calodo topsoils (shale, clay, loam) paired with Diablo subsoils based on chalky calcium carbonate, the cooling effects from the Pacific funneling through the Templeton Gap, plus hilltop and south-facing sites, contribute to this vineyard’s incredibly unique terroir. Berries are allowed to fully ripen and present signature flavors, healthy tannins, and ample acidity. Blackberries and cherries are evident at the mid-palate as lavender and rose petals waft on the nose. Cranberries, cherries and fresh prunes become apparent just as subtle sandalwood and cocoa powder notes arrive at the lavish and lingering finish.
