2019 Estate Tannat
Tannat is a varietal marked by bright red fruits and lively acidity, and the 2019 Sextant Tannat holds true to this story. Market fresh cherries and strawberries immediately present themselves, with hints of fleshy rose petals showing as well. Bright cranberry like acidity opens up the palate, paired with soft and approachable tannins on the mid palate. The natural acidity of Tannat carries all the way through the palate, ending with a strawberry jam like finish.

Winemaker Notes
With only one acre planted of Tannat in RBZ Vineyards, this wine comes in as one of our smallest production runs, with only 167 cases produced. After fermenting in stainless steel, it was aged in French oak for 18 months. The final blend is comprised of about 60% new, medium toasted French oak, which helps add spice to the nose. Neutral French oak barrels are used on the rest of the blend in order to maintain varietal characteristic unique to this inky-dark and tannic wine. Enjoy now or cellar through 2029.
