Zinfandel is one of the varietals that put Paso Robles on the
map. Our 2019 Holystone Zinfandel attributes itself to the natural spice that this varietal produces when grown in the correct region. Our RBZ Vineyard in the El Pomar sub AVA of Paso Robles is perfect for Zinfandel, with beautiful limestone soils and ideal growing temperatures. After being handpicked and fermented in stainless steel tanks, our different Zinfandel lots are aged in a mix of French, American and Hungarian oak for 20 months. After aging, we scour the cellar for the barrels showing the brightest spice notes to put into the Holystone blend. A dash of Syrah and Petite Sirah help add tannin and structure to the palate, while still allowing Zinfandel aromas to be expressive on the nose.
