The 2019 Portolan is a wonderful balance of brawn and finesse. Dark blueberry and boysenberry aromas play alongside a flurry of fleshy rose petals and honeysuckle. Winemaker Notes
The 2019 Portolan is the second release of our estate Syrah. 97% Syrah is cofermented with 3% Viognier. The Viognier helps bind color, tannin, and bring floral aromas to the Syrah. All hand picked and fermented in stainless steel, this lot is barrel aged in a mix of new and used French puncheon barrels for 18 months. An additional year of bottle aging before release helps ensure this wine is ready to go once it’s in your hands!
