2020 Caverio Founder's Collection
A Southern Rhône blend with Paso Robles verve, this wine weaves a compelling profile. Grenache provides a rustic frame, featuring strawberries, raspberries, and dried herbs. Syrah intensifies with blackberry, mulberry, and black pepper notes. Mourvèdre deepens with boysenberry, black currant, and plum sauce accents. Finally, Viognier chimes in with hints of red roses and orange blossoms. Soothing tannins and pleasing acidity bring unity and cohesion en route to an exquisite finish.

Winemaker Notes
While it is the lightest of our three GSM blends, Caverio is still packed with layers of flavor. The backbone is composed of our estate Grenache, hand-picked, destemmed, and fermented in stainless steel before we lightly press the grapes to capture the free run wine. Then we age the blend in a mix of new and used French oak for 20 months before bottling. This year we chose to include a splash of our Syrah cofermented with Viognier to add some light floral characteristics, as well as a tick of Mourvèdre to add a hint of earth and texture to the finish.
