2020 Holystone Zinfandel
It is not by chance the word “fan” is nestled into the word Zinfandel, here at Sextant we have just that; “fans” of Zinfandel. The 2020 Holystone will surely please even those with the most discerning palate, Zin “fan” or not, this wine is a beauty. Its plump and intense; extracted and expressive. There’s anise and sage on the nose with plump raspberries, wild loganberries, and apricot on the palate. Aromas of vanilla, cinnamon and plum skins intertwine effortlessly amongst the toasted oak that leads to a lasting and harmonious finish.

Winemaker Notes
The 2020 Holystone blends 81% of our finest Zinfandel blocks with a 11% Syrah and 8% Petite Sirah from our estate vineyard. Each block is fermented in stainless steel and aged for nearly 20 months in a mix of new and used French and American oak. We look for barrels that express the spiced side of the Zinfandel world while still showcasing the traditional aromas of the vintage. Over time we have found that once and twice-used barrels respect the fruit, allowing the perfect amount of spice.
