2020 Paris Valley Road Petit Verdot
While typically a component of Bordeaux blends, Paris Valley Road has curated Petit Verdot as a single varietal, capitalizing on its signature traits of fragrant bouquet, lively body, and refined acidity. Joie de vivre in a glass, this wine will woo dinner guests with lifted violets, red plums, and ripe cherries up front. A beguiling texture swathes the palate as strawberries, kirsch, and red currants join the flow, with lingering hints of cloves, cedar, and sage on the finish.

Winemaker Notes
Our Petit Verdot was aged for 18 months in 50% new French oak and produced using traditional winemaking practices. We harvest the fruit at the peak of ripeness, balancing the right sugar content with robust flavor and natural acidity. Destemming and rigorous sorting removes excess leaf material and underripe fruit, leaving behind beautiful whole berries ready for fermentation. We cold soak for several days before pitching our desired yeast, allow heat to rise naturally, and cap fermenting temperatures at 85°F to optimize extraction. As sugar converts to alcohol and flavors intensify, we adjust pump overs and punch downs to match the level of activity in the tank. When we are satisfied that we have maximized the potential of each fermentation, the wine is separated from the grape skins and sent to barrel for aging.
