2020 Windemere Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon

Dedicated to making wines that uniquely represent the most ideal terroirs of coastal California, our team of growers, craftsmen, and makers create the best wines possible using natural and traditional winemaking techniques.

Established as an AVA in 1983, Dry Creek Valley includes more than 9,000 vineyard acres and 60 wineries, one deli, and no traffic lights. Most new plantings follow the traditional head-trained style. Often grown on bottomland near the creek, Sauvignon Blanc is the standout white varietal. Cabernet Sauvignon is under-appreciated here, despite first-class examples. Sonoma cabernet exhibits darker fruit, such as blackberry, black currant, sometimes with a note of coffee and dark chocolate.

2020 Windemere Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker Notes
Planted on some 12,000 acres of Sonoma County vineyard land, Cabernet Sauvignon is now just about tied with once rapidly ascendant Pinot Noir. Representing 20% of the county's total red wine grape acreage, Cabernet Sauvignon is only second to Chardonnay among all grapes, red and white. Cabernet Sauvignon is mainly grown in the warmest of Sonoma County's diverse growing regions.
