2021 Astrolabe
Mostly exclusive in old-world blends, Sextant presents a grand duet of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with melodic style. The 2021 Astrolabe is a tale of two varietals primed to captivate palates via new-world moxie. The lavish fruit of estate vineyards enables an accord of flavor, structure, and mouthfeel. Plump cherries, black currants, and capsicum notes merge with tinges of red plums, blueberries, and black pepper. Pliable tannins and elegant acidity allow an elongated and savory mid-palate as alluring licorice, cloves, and espresso waft on the delectable finish.

Winemaker Notes
Astrolabe is young in the Sextant program but is gaining a great following already. It’s one of the only wines where we break tradition, blending Rhône and Bordeaux grapes. Hand-picked and estate grown at our RBZ Vineyard in the El Pomar region of Paso Robles. 58% Syrah and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine was aged 20 months on 50% new oak.
