2021 Estate Merlot
A single varietal ready to mingle with food pairings, the 2021 Sextant Estate Merlot wows palates from the first meet-cute. Agile tannins and soothing acidity result in ample body with a lengthy mid-palate. It’s a wine that confidently carries through multiple courses—a sommelier’s Swiss Army knife. Sumptuous plums, cherries, and raspberries weave with hints of red currants, strawberries, and figs, while accents of vanilla, bay leaves, and cedar trail on the quenching and persistent finish.

Winemaker Notes
We have two distinctly unique blocks of Merlot at the RBZ vineyard. Block 5 produces a rich, fruity, lush wine, while block 4 is earthier and spicier. Aged in a light portion of new oak, we let the fruit shine and highlight the delicate flavors and aromas characteristic of the varietal. While they tend to ripen at about the same rate, we always ferment and age the wines separately, allowing us to arrive at the blending table with the freedom to craft each vintage of Merlot meticulously.
