2024 Estate Grenache Rosé
Crisp, vibrant, and aromatically delectable. Taste the fruit that flourished in last summer's heat served cool in the glass. Grenache provides the backbone to yield extracted layers of strawberries, raspberries, and red currants. Light touches of blood oranges, dried cranberries, and cinnamon enhance the mid-palate. Winemaker Notes
We farm a hilltop block of grenache noir specifically for rosé. We pick this block in the early part of the harvest season, making the fruit perfect for a light and fresh Provençal-style rose. A process traditionally referred to as pigéage in France, we foot stomp each bin of fruit as it comes into the winery to help extract a little color. The stomp and about an hour of skin contact are all we need to extract flavor and color from the skins. We lightly press the fruit and carry out a low-temperature fermentation, then age the wine in 100% stainless steel for just three months before bottling.
