2019 Genoa XIX
An introduction to complexity from the very first tug on the palate. Expressive cherries, blackberries, and figs are joined by sleek red currants. The contoured texture becomes apparent as the layers of fruit coalesce and cascade. The presence of dried lavender and sage add stylish accents. Refined tannins and acidity frame a lively intensity at the midpalate. The finish lingers elegantly, persistent with complexity.

Winemaker Notes
The Genoa blend is one of the most fun for our winemaking team. Fruit sourced from and hand picked off of our finest Zinfandel, Syrah and Petite Sirah blocks in our RBZ Vineyard in the El Pomar sub AVA, each blend has a snapshot of the past and a glimpse into the future. Two barrels of each blend are held and barrel aged for an extra 12 months each year to incorporate into the following vintage. This Solera style winemaking approach allows for the structure and tannin of this wine to be truly vibrant.
